Hi my lovelies, it’s been awhile, hasn't it? Hope you are keeping as well as can be.

I do hope you’re finding my blogs informative and somewhat comforting to read, especially with what’s going on in the outside world. We are in it together and will come out of it together!

A couple of months ago I did a Facebook live with the lovely Reena who is an online brand stylist and her business is called MyStyleBuddy. We hit it off instantly and decided to team up with each other because we both felt we could give our lovely ladies a lot of value. Myself and Reena are passionate about empowering and helping women feel good through what they wear. Dress Well To Feel Good!

I hand-select pieces for busy women that can be combined with pieces from your wardrobe so that you are making the most out of your clothing. Reena advises women according to their body shape what pieces would look flattering and what type of accessories women should be looking to buy.

I had prepared a few pieces from the Ayesha’s Attire collection, and displayed as an outfit on the mannequin. Reena educated us on how we can wear each piece and what you should be wearing depending on your body shape. We chose pieces that are comfy, versatile, smart yet casual and stylish.

I know a lot of us are now a bit fed up of the virtual meetups and a bit tired of dressing up just for a zoom call and then changing back, well fear not, I have it covered. The pieces I have chosen to showcase during the Facebook live are casual yet smart, easy to wear and versatile so you are not rushing about deciding what to wear and that’s because they work well whether it’s for a work zoom call or a social chat with family/friends. When I am choosing my outfit for the day I like to choose pieces that are versatile, comfy and stylish so that after my zoom call I am able to dash out/ in the same outfit I am already in, and with the ever-changing rules, we demonstrated just that with the same pieces shown during the live.

I will add the names of each piece below that were showcased during the Facebook live we did and the link to the live. Do pop over to watch my Facebook page and let me know what you think! Also, do let me know what you wear when you have a zoom call?

Hi my lovelies, I am back talking about a slightly different topic that is very close to my heart and is partly the reasons why I started my business in the first place. We all need a ‘Pick Me Up’. Below are some of the reasons why we should make an effort in getting dressed or actually get dressed, if we spend your days in pj's.

I hope the above reminders have helped, especially as we go from staying at home to a gradual new normal, which may be hard to adapt to and/or overwhelming. All of the above are based on my own experience.

I would love to know how making an effort and getting dressed has helped you. Let's support each other and give each other useful tips and reminders.

So, until next time stay safe and happy shopping.

Yours Truly,

Soaad & Ayesha x

Hi my lovelies, it’s been a while since I wrote my last blog. It has been a lot more challenging to sit down, write blogs and other things I need to get done when I have a 4 year old daughter, which I am sure a lot of you can relate to...but, I have finally done it. Sooo here goes...

During these uncertain times we are all having to stay at home and amongst everything else we are doing to keep ourselves safe and occupied we are shopping online a lot more, which is fine as we are now looking at supporting local businesses through these tough times. Having said that, we must be careful when shopping online that it doesn’t leave a bad taste in our mouths. Last month, I was asked by a lady who has a column in the ‘Lancaster Guardian’ to share my 8 top tips to avoid getting ripped off:

1, We are often tempted to buy from social media adverts because it is easy while we are relaxing. So, if you are attracted to something from an unfamiliar company, send out a post to a group or on your page, asking if anyone has heard of this company and what they think of their products or services.

2, Reading past reviews will give a more accurate view of the company and the product. Check as far back as you can, past the highlighted good reviews, to find the real reviews. Then also check their returns policy.

3, Getting the right size first time; every store’s clothing will fit you differently due to the brand, so check the measurement chart. If they don’t have a chart then contact them asking for the measurement of that particular piece. Some sites have reviews about the sizing which are helpful.

4, Pay attention to the height of the model in the photo. It will help you know if it’s the right length for you.

5, Get somebody to measure you – bust, waist, shoulder width and full length. Don’t guess.

6, Make a note of the brands you have bought from before to remember if their fitting, material and quality is good.

7, Use the zoom-in button, which gives you a close-up and a 360-degree view.

8, And finally, contact them if you’re not sure, via email, or just phone them up. Hearing their answers to your questions will determine whether you want to buy from the company or not, from their knowledge of the product and how they deal with you. If there is no customer support then that can tell you all you need to know.

So till next time stay safe and happy shopping

Thinking about how I was going to do it almost stopped me from starting my own business. It seemed unreasonable to think that I'd be able to get everything done that I wanted to get done as a business owner and still be the mother I wanted to be to my daughter. The truth is you can do it all if you just change your definition of what balance is. There are times where my business gets more attention than my daughter and vice versa. When I look back, I can see it all balances out. Part of being a business owner is learning to change direction quickly. Needless to say as a single mum and a business owner you will get tons of use out of that skill. So relax, have faith and take it all one day at a time.

It would be great to hear about your experiences on this topic.

It was my daughters birthday last week and for me it was one of many huge milestones that I will cherish for a very long time. I had organised a small intimate party as I feel they are the best paties. It was a bit crazy a times but all in all it all worked out with the help of my lovely friends and my beautiful mum. As per-usual I didn't take many photos even though before had said I will make sure I will and as a backup I will ask one of my friends to but clearly that didn't happen. Looking at the positives, I had a handful of really good ones. This party meant a lot to me for a number of reasons...her starting big school next year and the emotions with that, our journey etc etc

We have reached the end of this series. As you know, they have been based on my own experiences. I hope these tips have been useful in some way or another. My next blog will be in the new year and it will be on 'Mine and Ayesha's 4 Year Journey'. There is enough guilt to go around for any parent, so I make a conscious effort to let go and focus on the positives. A lot of the time we need to give ourselves a good talking to when our negative thoughts are starting to creep in. At times, I may have a hectic schedule and as a result of that my daughter is learning to be a bit more independent and adapting to the ongoing change. You chose this path because you know it will give you all a better future. Keep reminding yourself of that, when times are tough. It's not always going to be like this.

It would be great to hear about your experiences on this topic.

My daughter turned 4 this week. Next year she will be in big school. The day started of being hectic but it all came together with help of my friends and family. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute off it. Ayesha had a blast and was upset when everyone went home, kids eh. Being self employed has it's perks.

I will be adding a new blog Friday. If you would like to be the first to know about new offers and products then do sign up to receiving my newsletter.

A business, just like motherhood, is not a 9-5 job. Some days I'm awake until the early hours of the morning and then have to wake up a few hours later to sort my daughter out for nursery and then I’m out working on my business. Be kind to yourself. Fit in some ‘Me Time’ whether that’s going for a walk, a relaxing bath, watching a bit of TV, catch up on some sleep, eating a full meal, retail therapy or getting your hair done. Kids will make a mess, draw all over our paperwork and mess up our computer, however many times we tell them. If you don’t laugh then you will cry so you are better laughing as kids will be kids. So it’s best to see the funny side of it and laugh. Give yourself credit. You may be juggling more than others. Wear your title with pride.

This past couple of weeks I have been extremely busy with meetings, working towards deadlines, mummy duties etc etc etc. This week it took it's toll and I took two days off and rested. Them two days I just did my essentials. Spending time with friends was my medicine. We can get so consumed in our worldly lives that we lose ourselves. After having two days off I felt much better and was able to hit the ground running. I do need to do this more often.

You have to make family a part of your business. I have learnt overtime my daughter is less clingy when I get her involved with what I am doing, for example; helping me set up at an event, meeting the customers, when doing crafty things, taking photographs and when I’m attending casual meetings. All this gives gives her a better understanding of what I do and when I spend money on her or buy things in general, she knows what I have done to earn the money. Make them a part of that journey, and that’s for any mum, not just single mums...Our children are our reason to seek out a better life and to be a good role model.

It would be great to hear about your experiences on this topic.

Recently, I have noticed my daughter is more affectionate verbally and physically. Don't get me wrong she does tell me she loves me and other things but just noticed it a bit more and I am really loving it. I hope it's not a phase she is going through. It's nice seeing her going through stages but on the other hand I find it a tad overwhelming with all the changes, especially the good ones. She will be four next month and when I look back it's been a rollercoaster of a journey that I have loved every minute. I have not decided yet what we are doing and how we are going to spend it. Am I the only one that thinks like this?

Distance yourself from toxic people. You don’t have the time or the energy to be dealing with people who are so physically and mentally draining.

The business world can be tough at times, therefore you need to surround yourself with positive people that you can call up and give you that lift again.

This week Ayesha has been coming home with some sort of artwork, which I always love to see. It's been a bit funny because when I ask about her art work she she said it a drawing of me. It took me a bit back as i look like a scary monster. Does anyone elses child come home with similar art work looking totally not what it should be?

Morning everyone, last week I introduced you to my ‘6 Useful Business Tips For Single Mums Running A Business’ and this week I will be talking about the first one...

Being a single mum is NOT a set back! Don’t get me wrong, setting up a business is a ton of work. However, don’t let people's perception of this lifestyle count you out before you even count yourself in. Being a single mum we learn very early on we have skills that are imperative in the business world, which are; multitasking, creativity, managing deadlines. I’m not sure about you but I would put my money on someone with these skills.

It’s been particularly important to me this week because I have had to use all the above skills and more. During this time, I was finding things overwhelming being a mum, a business women... but when my daughter said “Mummy, I love you” I knew from that I was doing just fine.

It would be great to hear about your experiences on this topic.
